THEY SAY HALF OF THEIR GENERIC PHARMACEUTICALS COME FROM INDIA. SO THEY WERE GATHERED TODAY AS GOVERNOR JIM PILLEN SIGNED LEIGH 168TH OR THE CONTRACT PHARMACY PROTECTION ACT, INTO LAW. THE LEGISLATION WAS INTRODUCED BY SENATOR BRIAN HARDIN. IT’S AIMED AT PROTECTING THE SAVINGS PROVIDED THROUGH THE PROGRAM. IT’S TO BENEFIT NEBRASKANS SERVED BY HOSPITALS AND OTHER ELIGIBLE HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATIONS. THE GOVERNOR SAYS THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 35 YEARS, AND IT IS AN ESSENTIAL PIECE FOR HOSPITAL SUCCESS IN NEBRASKA.       Nebraska hospital leaders are concerned that President Donald Trump's tariffs are going to hike up prescription prices. They said half of their generic pharmaceuticals come from India. They were gathered today as Gov. Jim Pillen signed LB 168 or the 340 Contract Pharmacy Protection Act into law. The legislation introduced by Sen. Brian Hardin is aimed at protecting the savings provided through the program.It's to benefit Nebraskans served by hospitals and other eligible health care organizations. Pillen said the program has been around for 35 years and is an essential piece for hospital success in Nebraska. "Let's just call it the way it is.
