WASHINGTON, April 3. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump did not impose trade tariffs on goods from Russia, Belarus, Cuba, and the DPRK, since these countries are already under US sanctions, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Axios portal.
According to her, the current sanctions against these four countries are quite strict, and the introduction of additional trade measures is not currently being considered. However, she added that Russia may still face "additional strong sanctions" in the future.
Also, Canada and Mexico were not affected by the new restrictions, because the US had previously imposed separate duties of 25% on them, the press secretary confirmed.
On April 2, Trump said that his country would set a minimum customs duty rate on imported goods of 10%. For individual countries, he set individual tariffs. In addition, the US administration will introduce customs duties of 25% on all imported cars from April 3.
