For an upcoming story, The Providence Journal is putting together a compilation of notable local accents.
If you'd like to participate, please call 401-277-7303 and leave a message with the following information:
- That you're calling for the Rhode Island accent story
- Your full name (first and last names) and age
- What part of Rhode Island you're from
- Whereabouts in Rhode Island you live now, if different
In the message, please record yourself saying the following the phrases:
- "Be careful, I don’t want the neighbors to call the fire department"
- "I never use a shopping cart when I go to the market for coffee"
- "Law enforcement was in the area"
The recording may be published online in conjunction with a forthcoming story on the Rhode Island accent.
