North Korea surprises with new suicide drones that implement artificial intelligence

In a world where all the countries around us are preparing for a strong rearmament due to the existing global instability and the war conflicts that are currently active both in Ukraine and in the Gaza Strip, any news related to the arms industry generates a great media impact.

In this case, the focus is on North Korea, as the Korean Central News Agency confirmed on Thursday, March 27, that Kim Jong-un paid a visit to the Unmanned Aerial Technology Complex, where he conducted a review and several tests of the new suicide drones that his own country has managed to build.

A weapon that on a battlefield can be lethal to the enemy and has the greatest possible technology for these flying weapons. The technology it implements is undoubtedly the great novelty, as it has an artificial intelligence system, which makes its navigation clearly improved. Not only that, this AI also makes its attacks much more effective.

Kim Jong-un on suicide drones: "It must be a top priority"

It was not the only thing the North Korean leader inspected, he also closely observed the new aircraft available to his army in order to obtain early warning of possible attacks on its airspace. In addition, Kim Jong-un made these statements about drones: "The field of unmanned equipment and artificial intelligence must be a top priority in the modernization of the armed forces."

The Korean Central News Agency also gave some details about the operations that these new drones will carry out: "Track and monitor different strategic targets (...) They will be used in various tactical attack missions." It is not the first time that North Korea has tested suicide drones, this already happened in August and November 2024.
